Andy Leath, P.E., CPESC
Andy is a lifelong resident of Sumner County, Tennessee. He was born and raised in the Bethpage / Westmoreland area. After graduating from Westmoreland High School in 1999, he married his high school sweetheart and they both headed to college. After college, he came back to Westmoreland with his wife. They each own a small business and are raising three children.
Andy has over 17 years of experience working in the Civil Engineering field. Since graduating from Tennessee Technological University, he has gained valuable experience at the firms that have employed him. Working at smaller firms has provided him with the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of Civil Engineering and related fields. In 2006, Andy began his career with Rogers Group, Inc. as an Engineer Intern. Over the last 11 years, Andy has been able to develop as an engineer becoming licensed in 2008 and managing design projects for the past 5 years.
In addition to Andy’s professional career and achievements, he is actively involved in making his community a better place to live in. He is beginning his eighth season as the president for the Westmoreland Little League. Under his leadership, the program continues to grow as they make improvements and partner with the local High School baseball program. This partnership also led him to work with the high school coach to create the High School Baseball Booster Club. In just two years, the club was able to purchase and install a $100,000.00 lighting system for almost half that cost. Andy is also in his 5th year of a 6-year term on the Westmoreland Industrial Development Board (IDB). He has been the chairman since 2015. Under his leadership, the IDB was able to work with Forward Sumner to secure a $50,000.00 matching grant from the USDA to prepare an existing warehouse space for lease. Andy has managed this project for the IDB. The City of Westmoreland, through the Industrial Board, has been able to reestablish relationships with many governmental entities including the GNRC. Andy hopes to be able to use his professional expertise to benefit his local community and the greater Sumner County area.
